Carter sees four probation violators and one newly indicted defendant during Jan. 18 Law Day

Circuit Judge Craig Carter processed five cases during the Jan. 18 session of Ozark County Law Day. Updates in the cases are listed here. 

Corbin Anderson, who pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substances in March 2018, appeared for a probation violation hearing with his attorney Joshua Brown. The judge allowed Anderson to be released directly to and from an inpatient drug treatment program. His probation was suspended. He is scheduled to return for a hearing at 9 a.m. Feb. 8. 

Jeremiah D. Kowerduck, who pleaded guilty to burglary, possession of a controlled substance, stealing and unlawful possession of a firearm in July 2019, appeared in custody for a probation violation hearing. The court found that his due process rights are imperiled. The public defender was appointed. He is scheduled to return at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 22. 

Katherine J. Brotherton, who pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in November 2021, appeared for a probation violation hearing. The docket report says that Brotherton was terminated from drug court without completing it. The court found that her defendant’s due process rights are imperiled, and the public defender was appointed. 

Thaddaeus C. Ewry, who pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in November 2021, appeared for a probation violation hearing. He was ordered to serve a 7-day shock jail sentence and be continued on probation with the condition that he enter and complete an inpatient drug treatment program. 

Kerry D. McKee, (see above)charged with domestic assault, appeared for a plea hearing or trial setting. The hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 8.
