Dora runner earns statewide mention

Dora sophomore track athlete Cade Nold was mentioned as a runner to watch this season in online sportswriter Kyle Deeken’s Missouri track preview story on “It was a very nice acknowledgment from his season last year and his forecasted hope for this year,” said Dora track and field coach Sheree Nold, who is also Cade’s mother.

Cade was the second fastest freshman in the entire state regardless of class in the 800-meter run with his 2:03.20 best at the Class 1 Sectional 4 meet. He ended up finishing in sixth place at the Class 1 state meet with a 2:04.29. “Nold had a stellar freshman year, earning a 21st place medal in cross country as well. This past fall, he improved 14 places to seventh place in a new personal best 17:14.40. We are watching to see what he does for an encore in his sophomore track campaign,” wrote Deeken in the preview article.

Coach Nold said she’s excited about the season and is pleased with the entire Dora track and field team.

“The whole team has been working diligently this season with individual goals in mind.  I must comment on their focus and deliberate training efforts every day at practice.  This will be a fun group of athletes to watch this year.  We have a team of 30 and a full slate of performers:  jumpers, throwers, short distance, mid distance, long distance and including a few relays that we hope to hone in on for competition. Our season will run through May 6 when we compete at districts, with hopes of training all the way to the state meet that will be on May 20 in Jefferson City.”
