State cross country athletes

These Dora High School athletes competed in the Class 1 state cross country championship meet on Nov. 5. The Dora girls’ team was one of 16 teams at state out of 31 class 1 teams. The Lady Falcons took 10th place in state. Shown are all the Dora athletes who competed. From left, Joshua Nold, Mia Gray, Emma Martin, Kayden Jones, Cally DePriest, Autumn Nold, and Cade Nold. Individual state qualifiers were Autumn Nold, Emma Martin, Cade Nold, and Joshua Nold.  Autumn placed in All-State Honors with a 21:36 in 13th place. Emma Martin came in 54th with a 23:30. Twin brothers Cade and Joshua Nold also came in with strong finishes. Cade earned All-State recognition by placing 7th out of 171 state qualifiers. He also ranked as the fastest sophomore in the Class 1 and Class 2 divisions put together, by running a new PR of 17:12. Joshua finished in a strong 38th position with a fight to the end for an 18:41 time. Bakersfield School also had two athletes who earned a trip to the state meet. Coach Tammy Lamb said C.J. Carey was unable to go to state because of a sprained ankle. Callie Smith was battling an illness. She persevered and competed.
