Gainesville bands, students receive accolades


Photo submitted Gainesville High School student McKoy Dobbs received a “I rating” (exemplary) and a gold medal at state solo/ensemble competition on Saturday at the University of Missouri.

The Gainesville High School Band recently placed first in their class with a superior rating in recent competition.

The Gainesville High School Choir also placed in recent competition, with an “excellent” rating (second place).

In state solo/ensemble competition on Saturday at the University of Missouri, GHS student McCoy Dobbs received an exemplary rating and a gold metal.

The Gainesville Junior High band participated in the Fair Grove Music Festival on April 9. The band performed before a panel of judges and made an Exemplary (I) rating. The students also performed individual solos and ensembles. The results are as follows:
