Proud to work and live in a community with so much pride

I was so heartened to read your article on Aug. 11, 2026, covering “A flag returns to the Taylor bottoms.’ It’s a wonderful example of the hometown spirit and traditions that makes this community so special.

As the new Postmaster and a longtime resident of Ozark County, seeing that kind of local pride is exactly why I am so excited to serve the residents here.

The Postal Service has long been woven into the fabric of small towns and rural America. Here in Gainesville, the Post Office helps people stay connected, supports local commerce, and remains a steady presence in the everyday life of the community.

As I step into this role, I hope to build strong relationships with customers and employees alike. I believe service is strongest when it is local, personal and grounded in the needs of the people we serve.

That local commitment is part of a larger American story. As the nation nears its 250th anniversary, the Postal Service remains proud to carry forward a public service mission that has helped connect the country since its earliest days.

I look forward to earning the trust of this community and serving Gainesville with pride.
