If you feel like Easter is later than usual this year, you’re right. The holiday will be celebrated next Sunday, April 20, almost as late as it can possibly fall.
Unlike Christmas and Thanksgiving which have set dates on the calendar, the Easter holiday is celebrated on the Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox.
Despite its later than usual celebration, organizers around Ozark County are happily planning Easter egg hunts to enjoy the day. If you’re looking for somewhere fun to take children to hunt, try out these local hunts:
Friday, April 18
Lutie School, located on Highway 160 in Theodosia, will host its Easter egg hunt at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Lutie Walking Trail located on land next to the school. Everyone welcome.
