Lutie School donates to OCSD for stab- and bullet-proof vest for K9
Thanks to a generous donation from Lutie School, Ozark County Sheriff’s K9 officer Karo will now be better protected with a piece of equipment that could save the dog’s life. The $500 donation will be used to purchase a bullet- and stab-proof vest fitted for the canine deputy.
“We proudly donated to support the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department with a special focus on their canine unit,” Lutie Superintendent Kathalee Cole told the Times. “This contribution reflects our appreciation for their incredible work to protect Ozark County, ensuring the safety of our schools, community and county as a whole.”
Deputy and K9 handler Josh Sherman said the OCSD is incredibly thankful for the support from Lutie School and others in the community who have stepped up to donate to the OCSD K9 fund.
“Our community partners play an important role to support our K9 program. I am very thankful for the Lutie Board and students for their continued dedication to our community K9 program and helping protect Karo,” he said.
