Gilbert Laycock Engle, 42

A graveside service for the burial of the ashes of Gilbert Laycock Engle, 42, of Indiana, formerly of Theodosia, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Lutie Cemetery in Theodosia. Local friends and acquaintances are invited to attend. Mr. Engle died April 30, 2015, in Seymour, Indiana. 

He was born July 13, 1972, in St. Charles, the son of Gilbert Lee and Sally Katherine Engle. He spent his earliest years in St. Charles then moved to Theodosia with his parents when they retired. He grew up as a “lake child” and graduated from Lutie High School in 1991. After high school, he moved to Indiana to be near his sisters but returned to Ozark County frequently to visit friends and to enjoy the fishing and hunting he had grown up doing. 

He is survived by one daughter, Ezra Engle, and one son, Isaiah Engle, both of Freetown, Indiana; two sisters, Amy Andis of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Nancy Monday of Zenas, Indiana; one brother, Jeb Carden of Broomfield, Colorado; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
