Mary Rackley, 86
A celebration of life for Mary Rackley, 86, formerly of Gainesville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, with a eulogy to follow at approximately 1:45 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville.
Mary died Sept. 18 after a sudden illness. Mary was born on Aug. 27, 1938, to Cecil and Jewel Wilbanks in Pontiac. She married Delbert Rackley on Sept. 15, 1956. Together they raised two boys and a girl.
Mary was most known for her cooking and volunteer work for the American Red Cross. She was a dedicated election judge because she knew how hard it was to find a Democrat in Ozark County. She was the best mom her children could have asked for as well as an awesome Meme to her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband Delbert; her sister Barbara Shaw; and her children: Kevin Rackley and wife Sandy and Marta Haden and husband Mark; five grandchildren: CJ Rackley, Jason Rackley, Whitney Byrd (Nathan), Nick Haden and Logan Haden (Jenna); and eight great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Levi, Lukas, Harper, Matthew, Bailey, Jace and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Craig; and her siblings Robert, Maxine, Norma and JC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pontiac Cemetery fund and the Lilly Ridge Cemetery fund.
Cremation services for Mary are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava.
