She was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Cloverdale, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Ada Bohannan Corder. While she was working as a waitress in Kansas, she met Thomas Joseph Weyrauch Sr., who was home on leave from the Navy. They were married Nov. 20, 1954, in Los Angeles, California.
