Retha Joan Wilson Pond, 84

Funeral services for Retha Joan Wilson Pond, 84, of Theodosia, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Chapel in Ava with burial following in the Longrun Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Doyle Turner. 

She died Jan. 16, at her home with her family by her side.

Joan was born June 7, 1937, in Taney County, the daughter of Ted and Beulah (Silvey) Pellham. 

On May 1, 1959, she married Troy Quentin Wilson in Ozark County and they were blessed with a daughter, Robin. Troy preceded in death in 1999.

On Dec. 4, 2004, Joan and Charles Pond were united in marriage at Longrun. He also preceded in death in 2021.

Joan was a beautician and worked in Ava and Longrun at her own Beauty Shop. 

She was a member of the Longrun General Baptist Church. She grew up in the area and was saved at a young age. 

Joan enjoyed gardening, sewing, making crafts and playing the piano at church. She was always on the go and loved visiting people.  

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her brothers, Lloyd and Ovid Pellham, and her sisters, Ethel Jones and Edna Jones. 

She is survived by her daughter Robin Wilson and companion Jim Pearce, granddaughter Lacey Mohr and husband Shawn, two great-grandchildren, Calvin Troy and Lincoln Michael Mohr, one sister Sharon Turner and husband John, two brothers and their wives, Keith and Mildred Pellham and Garlin and Joyce Pellham, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
