Robert William Reahr

March 22, 1936 – December 26, 2024

 

Robert William Reahr, fondly known as Gramps, Old Man, and Pee Paw, was a man of many talents and a heart full of love. Born on March 22, 1936, Robert embraced life with a passion for adventure, humor, and family.

He loved riding his motorcycle, floating on rivers, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones. Robert’s quick wit and sense of humor brought laughter to everyone around him, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he delighted in teasing and joking with.

A skilled craftsman, Robert shared his knowledge of carpentry and mechanics, teaching his grandchildren how to build everything from furniture to dune buggies. He found joy in BBQs, making his famous peanut brittle, and admiring classic cars.

He worked for McDonald Douglas in Saint Louis, Mo for many years as a machinist in the space program.

Robert passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Robert Reahr and Chris Reahr; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Reahr (Robyn), Kenneth Reahr, Joshua Barnes, Nathan Barnes (Lorraine), Colin Reahr, Dylan Reahr, Brittany Reahr, Jonathan Oliver, and Elise Reahr; and his great-grandchildren, Hailey and Benjamin Reahr, Natalye, Rylee, Delylah, and Dalton Barnes,  as well as his great-great-granddaughter, Emmalyn Blake. He also leaves behind many beloved family members and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 60 years, Nadine Rosalie Reahr, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and adventure.

His memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., January 12, 2025, at The Center in Gainesville.
