Theo Louetta Jenkins, 86

Graveside funeral services for Theo Louetta Jenkins, 86, were held Jan. 12, 2023, at the Patrick Cemetery with Wayne Stewart officiating.

She died Jan. 10 at Gainesville Healthcare Center. Known to family and friends as “Lou,” she was born Nov. 4, 1936, to Arthur and Ruby (Carter) Strong.

Lou married William “Fred” Jenkins, and they enjoyed many years together living and working in Wichita, Kansas. She was a registered nurse and worked in many areas of both hospital and private practice locations. Before moving back to Ozark County, Lou and Fred finished their careers in public service. Ozark County Health nurse and Gainesville school nurse were Lou’s final positions. 

She was an avid student of the Bible and a member of The Church of Christ. She will always be loved and missed by her family. 

The family extend a generous thank you to the nurses and staff of Gainesville Healthcare Center for her care.

Lou is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Frances Johnson, nieces Teresa Hicks and husband Dan, Lisa Monkres, Patricia Jenkins and Connie Taylor Jenkins; nephew Eric Johnson and Linda; and close friend Greta Bradley. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Ruby Strong; in-laws Tony and Canzada Jenkins; and her husband Fred Jenkins. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Patrick Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
