Stuck trucks

Utility repair crews and road and highway workers worked extra hours during the past week, helping restore roadways, electricity and telephone service to Ozark Countians impacted by the April 28-30 floods. The work had its challenges, as shown in these two photos posted on the White River Valley Electric Cooperative’s (right) and Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative’s Facebook pages. The locations of the two stuck trucks weren’t given. County and state highway crews also toiled long hours in sometimes challenging conditions. Dora MoDOT shed supervisor Shawn Shipley said he and his co-workers had worked between 80 and 110 hours since floodwaters ravaged many area roads and bridges. Although Monday was a state holiday – Harry Truman’s birthday – Shipley and his team, as well as MoDOT employees based out of the Gainesville shed, were working.
