Young art exhibit visitors

The Ozark County Historium welcomed dozens of visitors Monday to the current exhibit of colorful, whimsical papier mache art by Theodosia-area resident David Lakish, a professional artist. Fifth and sixth graders from Gainesville Elementary School (pictured at left) visited the exhibit Monday morning; two Gainesville High School art classes came at mid-day; and Dora second, third and fourth graders (pictured at right) were there in the afternoon. Historium volunteer Janet Taber said the students seemed fascinated as Lakish demonstrated some of his artistic techniques. The exhibit, free and open to everyone, continues through April. The Historium is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.
